What it is for

Turn photos of plays you drew into editable diagrams in your program's playbook, instead of redrawing them by hand.

Built for: Coaches whose plays live on whiteboards, in notebooks or on paper, and who want them in one digital playbook.

What you end up with

An editable diagram like this sample from the free designer: players, cuts, screens, dribbles and passes you can move and change. It shows the kind of drawing a photo becomes; it is not a converted photo.

How it works

  1. Take a photo of a play you drew on a whiteboard or on paper.
  2. Upload it to your playbook; Ball Coach reads it into a draft diagram you can edit.
  3. Check the draft against your drawing and fix anything it got wrong in the editor.
  4. Save the result to your program's playbook.

Who it suits

  • A coach with years of plays on paper or in photos who wants them in one playbook.
  • A staff moving a whiteboard-and-notebook playbook into one place everyone can open.
  • Coaches who would rather correct a draft than redraw every play from scratch.

Who it does not suit

  • Anyone who needs an exact diagram without checking it: every draft needs your review before you save it.
  • Coaches whose plays are in another app's files or in a PDF. This page covers photos of drawn plays only.

Your staff and your program

Plays you save go to your program's playbook, not to one person's device.

What you put in

  • Photos of plays you drew
  • Your corrections in the editor

What you get out

  • An editable play diagram for each photo you accept.
  • Those plays saved to your program's playbook.

Limits

  • Not tested: how accurately and how quickly a photo of a play is converted into a diagram with a live vision provider.
