Set it up
Use groups of three or four at each basket: one driver, one shooter, and one rebounder or passer, with the extra player waiting as the next driver. Mark the corner, wing, and slot relocation spots with cones.
Run it
Teach three reads. Lift — the shooter starts in the corner; when the driver attacks baseline from the wing, the shooter lifts up the sideline to the wing for the kick-out. Drift — the shooter starts on the weak-side wing; when the driver attacks baseline from the opposite side, the shooter drifts down to the weak-side corner. Replace — the shooter starts in the slot; when the wing drives the middle, the shooter slides behind the drive into the vacated wing. The driver makes the kick-out pass, the shooter catches ready and shoots, and the rebounder outlets to the next driver. Rotate driver to shooter, shooter to rebounder, rebounder to driver.
What to coach
Lift, drift, and replace behind penetration. Arrive with feet and hands ready, maintain spacing, and hold the finish.
Score it
Score one point for a made shot that comes from the correct relocation and arrives on a balanced catch. A make does not count when the shooter moves early, crowds the drive, or catches without shot-ready feet. Complete five makes on each read from both sides.
Make it harder
Begin with the coach calling lift, drift, or replace before the rep. Progress to the driver choosing the penetration angle so the shooter must make the read, then add a controlled closeout after the kick-out.
