How this works
Each percentage is shots made divided by shots attempted, with field goals counting threes as a box score does. Effective field goal percentage counts a made three as one and a half field goals. True shooting percentage divides points by twice the true shooting attempts (field goal attempts plus 0.44 times free throw attempts, the conventional weighting for free throws that end a possession). A percentage with no attempts behind it is left blank, not shown as zero.
- Whole numbers of shots, up to 20,000 each: a game, a season, one player or a whole team
- Field goals include threes, as on a box score
- Calculates only: it doesn't say what a good percentage is for your level

What each percentage tells you
- Field goal percentage (FG%)
- Shots made from the field divided by shots tried, threes included. It treats a made three the same as a made layup.
- Two-point and three-point percentage (2P%, 3P%)
- The same split by distance. Twos are the field goals that weren't threes.
- Free throw percentage (FT%)
- Free throws made divided by free throws tried.
- Effective field goal percentage (eFG%)
- Field goal percentage with a made three counted as one and a half field goals, because it's worth half again as much. (FGM + 0.5 × 3PM) ÷ FGA.
- True shooting percentage (TS%)
- Points scored per shooting attempt, free throws included: points ÷ (2 × (FGA + 0.44 × FTA)). The 0.44 is the conventional estimate of how many free throw attempts use up a possession, since and-ones and three-shot fouls don't come in pairs.
